Charlene Joyce Watson
Dunn Whitehead
Feb 27, 1942 — Aug 1, 2026
Pasadena, CA
Charlene was released into her final resting state on August 1, 2026. Charlene entered this world via Vancouver, B.C. on February 27, 1942. She was born to Evelyn Annie Edwards and George Conway Watson, both of Vancouver, B.C. At age 4 yrs she crossed the US border with her family into Blaine Washington and later settled in Inglewood, CA as a young child. Charlene was the oldest of two children born to George and Evelyn. Her brother, James Douglas (Doug), passed on before her in 2017.
Charlene’s material grandfather was from Edinburgh, Scotland and served in the Royal Scotts Corps. He later migrated to Ontario, Canada and became part of the pioneering families in Vancouver, B.C. Her paternal grandfather hailed from London, England and later migrated to B.C. Canada. Charlene resided in both Altadena and Pasadena California since the early 1970s. She had five children, with one dying as an infant. She worked as a secretary and auto parts clerk in her young adult years. Charlene enjoyed many things in her life. She was a music lover and always played the most soulful tunes. She loved keeping a clean and sparkling house and would often make Saturdays the ‘cleaning’ day for all who were home to partake. The good thing about this was there was usually a nice reward to earn (aka a new pair of platform shoes or a trip to the mall) for the children that completed their chores and had enough points to cash in. Charlene loved to dress, wear funky 70s hats and have her hair and nails done in the salon. Countless summers were spent by the pool and at the beach trying to get the perfect tan. Charlene leaves behind four living children and 10+ grandchildren and several great-grandchildren who have now entered the world. She leaves behind several cousins and descendants of various degrees in Vancouver, Ontario, England, Scotland, Ireland, and the US. She was proceeded in death by her father, mother, a grandson, and her brother. Peace be upon Charlene Joyce Watson and all those she encountered.
