Erasmo
Mendieta Campuzano
January 18, 1965 – April 20, 2026
With profound sadness, but also with immense love, we share the passing of Erasmo Mendieta Campuzano, who peacefully entered eternal rest on April 20, 2026 at the age of 61.
Born in Guanajuato, Mexico, Erasmo was the youngest of eight siblings and carried the pride, strength, and joy of his Mexican roots throughout his life. He made Altadena, California his home in 1980, where he built a beautiful family and left a lasting mark on everyone who met him.
He was the beloved husband of Elvia, loving father of Carina and Brian, and a proud grandfather to Liam Alexander O'Toole, who brought endless happiness to his heart.
Erasmo was a hardworking man who dedicated his life to providing for his family. He worked as a painter, and then faithfully served over a decade as a groundskeeper for Las Encinas Behavioral hospital, where his strong work ethic, kindness, and dependability were reflected. He did many small jobs on the side to continue to provide, where he also made many wonderful friendships that literally lasted for his lifetime.
He was full of life, laughter, and never ending humor. He loved pranking his wife and children and truly making others laugh. He was affectionate, loving, hardworking, stubborn in his own way, and so generous that he became an uncle to everyone "Tio Lamo". Erasmo was truly light in every dim room, always smiling.
Before Erasmo's health declined, he enjoyed deep sea fishing, taking road trips, listening to music, walking local trails and spending weekends with family barbecuing. He also enjoyed going to the beach and always and I mean ALWAYS having peanuts and pumpkin seeds nearby. He enjoyed watching boxing matches, bull riding, and soccer games. More than all, he enjoyed being home with his family.
His absence leaves an immeasurable void, but also a lifetime of treasured memories, endless laughter, and a love that will remain with all of those that his life impacted forever.
Funeral services will be held on April 25 at 4:00PM at 380 E. Woodbury Rd. Altadena CA. After the service we warmly invite those who loved him to join the family home to share dinner and coffee, and reflect on the memories he leaves behind.
Starts at 4:00 pm (Pacific time)
